OK: this blog post is a little bit confusing because, from the its communicational side, it is easy to stop reading when you glimpse a direct sale of Cisco products related to virtualization. That is, and according to the article, the pillars of NFV are Cisco products. When it seems that the article is a pure sale pitch, emerges an operator case study which is implementing its own cloud, Deutsche Telekom (DT), with Cisco's help. There are not many details on how this project was carried out, or how this transformation is being carried out, but at least it offers the information that the German group and Cisco are at it. On the other hand, the article is at the verge of offering a simplistic view on NFV, when operators are really having a lot of trouble to be able to virtualize.
